I recently discovered a new brand that I am over the moon excited about. La Ligne. This recent brand is all about beautifully made, elegantly designed, timeless pieces that are #worthit.
I can’t tell you how over fast fashion I am. I’m tired of having a closet crowded with clothes I don’t wear and simultaneously feeling like I have nothing to wear. I don’t have the desire to constantly buy the newest trends – I find constant consumption a headache and a turn off… and exhausting (and a bit boring). I’d rather have fewer pieces that are beautiful, that I want to wear and that always look good. Bonjour La Ligne!
“While some clothes stay and some go, these are the ones that stick around. The only thing “fast” about our fashion is how quickly they will arrive at your doorstep.”
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, this is not a fashion blog. BUT the focus of this blog is to help with packing decisions that make you feel part of the stylish crowd no matter where you are. And I’m starting to realize how global trends are and how if you make some smart packing and buying decision you could end up with a capsule wardrobe that will look just as good in Paris as it does in Sydney (with some small adjustments maybe).
So I get a little too excited when I discover brands like La Ligne. Guys? These clothes are amazing and timeless. Will you wear them hiking in Patagonia? No, you adventurer, you. But will you wear one of their tops to dinner when you land in Santiago? Yes. And then again when you go to Florence to take in the art and (who are we kidding) the food? Yes. And maybe on a chilly evening in Cape Town? Yes. And when you’re at home? Every. Day.
As they say on their website “While some clothes stay and some go, these are the ones that stick around. The only thing “fast” about our fashion is how quickly they will arrive at your doorstep.”
La Ligne was started by two former Vogue editors: Valerie Macaulay and Meredith Melling plus Molly Howard who was Rag and Bone’s head of business development. Basically the dream team.
With jaw-dropingly gorgeous pieces that will look amazing on any street in any city, I’m all in.
