Fillmore St, San Francisco

If London is a city made up of little villages then San Francisco is a city made up of little contained neighborhoods. Let’s not get into what the difference is (who cares). What really matters (in this post at least) is that San Francisco has some amazingly lovely streets to shop and hang. Last week I checked out Fillmore Street in the Pacific Heights neighborhood… and it’s my favorite!! Disclaimer: I haven’t been to every neighborhood in SF.

Fillmore Street between Wilmot Street and Jackson Street is a great place to shop and get some cocktails (or food if you’re into that ;)). Here are the highlights:

Nest (2300 Fillmore St) A very cool and eclectic gift store with a surprisingly great jewelry collection. This is a small shop where you can really find some treasures. Take your time – there’s a lot in the shop – and really enjoy discovering!

Frame (2142 Fillmore St) I mean, putting on a pair of Frame jeans is like living in a denim dream. The shop is super beautiful, well stocked, and the shop keepers are amazingly friendly – it’s my kind of shop.

Credo Beauty (2136 Fillmore St) Credo Beauty is the beauty store if you’re into all natural beauty products… and you should be. I picked up an RMS concealer that is amazing as a concealer and hydrates your skin – the first ingredient is coconut oil! They also carry Vapor Foundation which is my fav. Plus the shop keepers are super helpful and not pushy.

Illesteva (2208 Fillmore St) Very, very cool sunglasses plus their store front is painted pink. I love it.

The Elite Cafe (2049 Fillmore St) All that shopping can make a gal hungry (and thirsty). The Elite Cafe wasn’t open yet when I was there, but the inside is very cool and I have it on good authority that this place serves a good cocktail and some comfort food. Plus, that front doorway. Gotta love it.

Palmer’s Tavern (2298 Fillmore St) – This is the place for a cocktail as far as I’m concerned. It opens at 4pm and by 4:30 this place is crowded, filled with a mix of older regulars and a younger friendly crowd basically its a cool Cheers. The food look amazing, but we stuck to an Old Fashion and a French Bouquet (lovely drink if you like grapefruit). This is an old school place that delivers in a big way. Plus the mirrors in the women’s bathroom are the most flattering mirrors in town.

Have you been to Fillmore St in San Francisco? What are you other favorite San Fran neighborhoods?
